You’re correct on the name MONTOYA. I’ve located some names BUT is there any way you can view the film and locate the parents of Felix de Leon and his wife Simona Martines probably born Abt. 1820 in San Luis, Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico and also the parents of Catarino Covarrubias and his wife Rosalia Montoya probably born Abt. 1816 in San Luis, Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico ??? Or at least point me in the right direction…do you think that Joseph Puentes might know?

I ordered the microfilm 2 months ago and I received the microfilm today and found out the names of both sets of his grandparents! Pascual’s paternal grandparents were FELIX DE LEON and SIMONA MARTINES and his maternal grandparents were CATARINO COBARRUBIAS and ROSALIA MAYORGA !!

and he has time he may be willing to do the look up for you. The actual record should have the names of their parents. Covarrubias is a very prolific name around Totatiche and Colotlan, Jalisco. Many indigenous people who took the name and some from the direct line of an Isabel Covarrubias, who was married to Jacinto Talamentes in the early to mid 1600s (perhaps the earliest Spanish settlers in Totatiche) and were likely the owners of the San Antonio de Cartagenas Hacienda right on the border of what are now the municipalities of Colotlan and Totatiche.
